Template — not legal advice. This document is a template provided for general guidance only. It is not legal advice and may not fit your specific circumstances. Have it reviewed and adapted by a qualified solicitor or data-protection professional before you publish or rely on it. Keep this notice in sync with the actual cookies your site sets — verify the live cookie inventory before publishing.

This Cookie Notice explains how [LEGAL NAME, e.g. ClearOps Ltd] ("ClearOps", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on clearops.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Our use of cookies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work, remember your preferences, and (if you allow it) measure how the site is used. "Similar technologies" includes things like local storage and tracking pixels — we refer to all of them as "cookies" here.

2. The cookies we use

a) Strictly necessary (essential) cookies

These are required for the website to function and to remember your cookie choices. They do not require consent under PECR. Examples:

Cookie / itemPurposeRetention
Consent preference (e.g. clearops_consent)Remembers your cookie choicesUp to 12 months
Security / load-balancing (host/CDN, e.g. Cloudflare)Keeps the site secure and availableSession / short-lived

b) Analytics cookies (non-essential — consent required)

These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. They are only set after you give consent. If we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), this includes:

CookieProviderPurposeRetention
_gaGoogle Analytics 4Distinguishes unique visitorsUp to 24 months
_ga_<container-id>Google Analytics 4Maintains session stateUp to 24 months

Where possible we aim to use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics. If we use a tool that does not set cookies and does not track individuals, no consent-banner choice is needed for it — but we will still describe it here.

c) Marketing / advertising cookies and pixels (non-essential — consent required)

If we run paid campaigns, we may use advertising or conversion-tracking pixels. These are only loaded after you give consent. Where used, they may include:

ItemProviderPurposeRetention
Meta Pixel (_fbp) [if enabled]Meta (Facebook/Instagram)Measures ad conversions and builds audiencesUp to 3 months
LinkedIn Insight Tag [if enabled]LinkedInMeasures ad conversions and retargetingUp to 6 months
Google Ads conversion tag [if enabled]GoogleMeasures ad conversionsUp to 90 days

We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies unless and until a campaign is running. If that changes, we will update this notice and the consent banner first. Remove any pixel rows above that you do not actually deploy.
